If you’ve been looking for volunteer opportunities near you that make a real difference, meet Good in the Hood’s local volunteers — the people who bring care, energy, and kindness to every corner of the Inner West. They are truly the heart and soul of our community, helping neighbours through challenging times.

Every week, our local volunteers dedicate their time to cooking meals, packing hampers, delivering food, gardening, and supporting local events. Through their efforts, they create connection, hope, and a sense of belonging across Rozelle, Balmain, Lilyfield, and Glebe.

What Our Local Volunteers Do

Thanks to our incredible local volunteers, Good in the Hood provides:

  • Over 300 meals and 100 hampers from Together2

  • 100 meals delivered weekly through Vinnies volunteers

  • Free bread pickups every Wednesday morning

  • Pop-up pantry every Friday at Together2 from 12:30–2pm

Beyond the numbers, it’s the care, smiles, and conversations that truly make a difference.

Ways to Volunteer

There’s a role for everyone in our community. Some of our local volunteer opportunities include:
